1/4/12 – The 2006/2007 production of “Charles J-Crooner Classics” was my first ever experience singing with a microphone and in a studio. Though I’ll continue to work on phrasing, tonal quality and diction, as a first effort the CD was a simple and I believe reasonable starting point from which to further develop and create a second CD of a more complex/refined sound. Some have asked when the next live performance is and I can’t say for sure though it will be early in the New Year. I recently approached an excellent piano player and we have agreed to explore a collaboration, so hopefully some live performing in the not to distant future and if all goes well a more refined CD by years end…stay tuned!

Thanks again to all who have supported this effort through your critiques, Musicians Face book “Liking” gestures and purchases. It’s all much appreciated!

Timeless indeed. An impressive collection of music that sends me back to simpler times when life wasn't so darn complicated and love was all that mattered whether it hurt you or not. After recently going through a messy break-up this is just what I needed to perk my spirits up. Music like this inspires deep introspection and I'm liking what I'm seeing and hearing. There is hope over that rainbow...who would have thought?

I had the pleasure attend the debut event for the CD with Charles J and friends. My wife and I both enjoyed that event and this CD immensely! It certainly took me back to my childhood; gathered in the family room with Mom on the piano, and family singing many of these timeless standards. I highly recommend the CD - for you and perhaps for your parents that certainly know and love each and every one of these selections! Thanks for the great memories, Charles!

As soon as we received the CD we played and enjoyed it immensely! Charles J has taken these timeless songs and made them his own through a purist approach and a powerful crooner style complimented by an excellent piano accompaniment. I highly recommend this CD to those who can get comfortable, relax and just enjoy a tenor doing his thing!
